Douglas Jones

Psychologist

I am a licensed psychologist specializing in the provision of psychological evaluations as well as the clinical treatment of psychiatric disorders. I earned my Ph.D. at the University of Florida and hold a B.A. degree from the University of Notre Dame. I have over ten years of clinical assessment and treatment experience in private practice, university treatment centers, and educational settings – working as a psychological evaluator for several private and public organizations.

During my years of clinical training through the College of Medicine at the University of Florida as well as with the OCD Resource Center of Florida, I developed an expertise in cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT). Moreover, I have provided intensive cognitive-behavioral outpatient treatment to child, adolescent, adult, and senior patients suffering from a variety of disorders. Due to my diverse experiences and training, I’m able to integrate a wide range of therapeutic approaches in treatment including cognitive behavioral therapy, exposure and response prevention, prolonged exposure therapy, mindfulness, and acceptance and commitment therapy.

As a husband and father, I strive to live by the therapeutic principles espoused in my profession. A long-term student and teacher of meditation and philosophy, I have travelled extensively throughout five continents, lived as a monastic, and served multiple vulnerable populations in a variety of different roles. In this spirit of service, I am grateful to be on the board of Lokiten Behavioral Health and help meet the behavioral health needs of southern Colorado.
