MJ Woods

Intern

MJ, a Senior at CSU Pueblo, is completing her Bachelor of Social Work internship with Lokiten Behavioral Health, where she brings a trauma-informed, advocacy-driven approach to client care. With an extensive background in family law, psychoeducation, and community advocacy, MJ is passionate about helping individuals and families navigate healing through a holistic lens that integrates mental health, social systems, and empowerment.

As a veteran, Mother of five, and lifelong advocate for human rights, MJ understands the complex intersections of resilience, identity, and recovery. She approaches each client interaction with authenticity, empathy, and a touch of humor, believing that healing often begins when people feel truly seen and safe enough to be themselves.

Outside of work, MJ finds joy in Broadway musicals with her partner, painting, paddleboarding, and Pilates. She’s fueled by coffee, dry sarcasm, and a steady rotation of TV, movie, and musical quotes; living fully by her favorite mantra:

“Take your work seriously, but never yourself.” — Dame Maggie Smith
